Q. Sketch out the Joint at the Head of Queen Post.
Ans. This joint is formed by two compression members, principal rafters and straining beam and one tension member of queen post. The head of queen post is made wider so that it may receive principal rafter. The end of straining beam and the head of principal rafter are tenoned into queen post. The joint is further strengthened by three way M.S. strap.
