Answer:A good brick shall have following characteristics :

It should be red in colour, have regular rectangular faces, free from cracks,grit and nodulds etc . It should be strong enough to take loads . When two bricks struck , should give metallic ringing  sound. It should be sufficient hard .It should be durable enough to stand the weather effects.It should have uniform compact structure. It should not absorb more than 20% of water by weight when immersed in water for 24 hours.It should have minimum of alkaline salts and resistant to fire.
